In 1860 William S. Schneider and Frederick Glassick founded Schneider and Glassick
(see Schneider and Glassick) Henry Deringer style percussion pistols in generally a serial numer is stamped on the top of the breechblock. At least 122 guns were made. In generally the barrel is marked Schneider & Co. Memphis, Tenn. During the Civil War, the firm was subsidized by the Confederate Government and remained in operation until the Federal forces took Memphis in 1864. |
